What Went Well

  • I made a content complete mech TTRPG!
  • Easy for GMs to make content.

What Went Wrong

  • Players pigeonholed into archetypes when choosing race.
  • Overly complex combat.
  • Generally bloated in terms of systems.

Process and Post Mortem

I learned why all mech TTRPGS are weird. It's difficult to bridge the gap between pilot and robot, and I'm not happy with how I handled the division. Despite this, I'm still proud of the core systems such as using die-steps to make the player feel powerful as they rank up. My lack of satisfaction with Behemoth has led me to working on several different iterations of the project for nearly 10 years at time of writing.
